The Littlest Zombie

The other night, I drifted off to sleep thinking about really small-scale crocheted items. And so yesterday afternoon/evening, using a #7/1.5mm steel crochet hook, some embroidery floss, and the zombie pattern in Creepy Cute Crochet as a guide, I made this little guy:

To get an idea of the scale, I used a quarter for the saucer.

I actually took a lot of photos of this little zombie, but it was hard to show how very small he is in relation to other items I’ve crocheted. So I decided to make a fun, silly little stop motion animation with two other amigurumi creatures I made.

Originally I wanted to make the movie longer, to show the little zombie making a wish and a happy Mario-style star saving the day, but my camera moved around a lot, even though it was on a mini-tripod, and I was getting frustrated. Next time I think I need to tape the tripod in place to leave both my hands free for manipulating the objects in the scene. I made the little song in GarageBand, and despite the fact that there are only about 20 seconds of song, it took a while to get it right. Yet another reason I’m glad I left the movie short.

Today was a fun day. :)
