I made my first sale this week! It was a custom-ordered necklace and earring set which was then donated as a raffle prize at a local City Clerk event on Thursday.
The task was to make a set that was professional-looking and would go well with a suit or other business attire as well as with more casual clothes. I found some amethyst beads and violet Swarovski crystals a few weeks ago and thought this would be the perfect time to use them. I paired the beads with small clear glass seed beads in the necklace to make the larger purple beads stand out. After I finished stringing the beads I made a little charm from one more amethyst bead. I attached it at the center of the necklace, for an embellishment that was very pretty but not too overdone.
For the earrings I used only the crystals so they weren’t too “matchy-matchy” as my sister likes to say.
I made some little gift boxes out of card stock as a final touch. I had so much fun making them: I like playing with paper! I think it would be a great idea to get some boxes pre-printed on card stock for the future so I only need to fold, cut, and paste together.
I hope the person who won my creations in the raffle will enjoy them! I am so excited to have made a sale!
