Saturday is my mom’s birthday. She bought a couple of pendants a while back from Fusion Glass in La Mesa, and asked me to incorporate them into some necklaces for her, so I finished one up today that will be on its way to her shortly. Here it is:
I got the idea for the planished loops from a chain necklace I saw at a little boutique in Campbell, and I added the black glass pearls and the smoke-colored Swarovski crystals to coordinate with the pendant. The color of the pendant was rather hard to coordinate with, so I only used a few beads, and let the metal and the pendant stand out. I like how the clasp turned out. The spring ring was purchased, but I made the loop for it to catch on out of wrapped wire and one of the small crystals for a cute sparkly little touch at the back.
Using part of an easy box pattern I found at Teresa Franco’s blog and a rubber stamp, I boxed the necklace up and got it all ready to send with some notes for my mom and dad in handmade envelopes.
I also finished my pendant in my bezel class last week. I polished it and set the stone, and it turned out almost just like I imagined it would.
Today is a busy day – I need to plan out the crochet lesson I am going to teach tomorrow, and I have my serger class tonight, and I would like to spend some time knitting also!
