No pictures for a while

I think my little Olympus FE-280 point-and-shoot camera just bit the dust. That, or it is the cable that connects the camera to my computer is faulty, but either way, I can’t get the pictures out of my camera just now. Both my MacBook and Daniel’s Windows XP machine fail to recognize that any USB storage device is attached to it.

I have been wanting a nice digital SLR for a while now, so I think perhaps there is no time like the present! It would be very nice to be able to focus my camera and select the aperture and shutter speed, none of which is possible with my current camera.

If anyone has any experience searching for a good digital SLR and has found one they like, please leave a comment and let me know.

In happier news, Daniel and I just ordered a scanner, so I will at least be able to scan my pen-and-ink doodles and play with them in Gimp now. Once that arrives, work on the graphic novel will continue.

I’m told by a profession photographer that the Canon Rebel is the camera to have.

We are very happy with the Canon 500D (aka X3 in Japan)
